SOMEBODY ASKED

Do I need to register for VAT if I only sell services?

Yes, from day one. There is no turnover floor for a business supplying services Act 1151, s.6in force and registration is due within thirty days of the first supply Act 870, s.6in force .

Filing is monthly, on or before the last working day of the month after the supply. Late filing carries a penalty for every month or part of a month it is late.

Due in the next six weeks

These are the deadlines that fall on most registered businesses. Answer ten questions and the list narrows to the ones that may apply to yours.

Why every page here has a date on it

Every claim is cited

Not a footnote. The Act and the section sit in the sentence that makes the claim, and the sentence links to the text.

Every record is dated

You can see the day we last read the source. When a record goes past its window we say so on the page rather than letting it age quietly.

We say when we do not know

If nothing we hold covers your question you get told that, plus the nearest things we do hold and a route to a registered practitioner.

This service is a publisher. It reports what published Ghanaian law says and shows you where it says it. It is general information about published Ghanaian law and it is not professional advice.
